5. Enter the name of the event. NOTE: (1) The event name is a key field and the first seven letters are critical to event recognition on the graphical calendar. In our example, The "Jeff Wheeler Annual Poker Tournamet" is listed as "Poker Tournament - Jeff Wheeler Annual" so that "Poker" will appear on the calendar. NOTE (2) When the underlined date number, in each cell, is clicked, the entire title for each event on the date is listed. Still, it is good to provide the most enticing work first in the event name. |
|

6. Enter the beginning date and ending date for the event. When you click on the calendar icon, to the right of the date field, a calendar appears. Just point and click on the date you want. Repeat the date selection process for the last date of the event. NOTE: If the event is only on a single date, leave the end date blank. Our example is a poker tournament that spans two weekends, for this reason, two listings will be required, one for each weekend. Each listing will cover the event Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This first listing has the dates January 10 - 12. |
For multiple days, enter the beginning and ending dates.

If there is an event Website, or cause Website, enter the universal resource listing (web address) in the field provided. |
|
| 9. The details and special attractions field is VERY IMPORTANT. This is where you use your personality to entice everyone to attend the event and to spread-the-word to others. Explain what will happen, why everyone should attend, and who will benefit. |

15. Decision Time. Do you want to just list the event on the calendar and possibly in the publication OR do you want to list the event AND have a Website where members can register, make donations, and spread-the-word. When used effectively, the EZ Website should increase your event participation significantly. Kintera event Websites have increased some pre-event donations over 500%. When you create an EZ Website with no registration, there is no fee charged for the site or the listing. Yes, you get both for FREE. Yes, you can still "Spread-The-Word" using the email tool provided on the EZ site. Yes, if you use "Spread-The-Word" effectively, you will raise awareness, participation, and donations. When you create an EZ Website with registration and donations, there is a very nominal fee of 4.75% + $1.50 per transaction. This means for every extra $100.00 you get in donations, you spend $5.25. Some non-profit organizations even add the online charges as a convenience fee and still take to the bottom line $100+. The difference is convenience and "point and time of contact involvement". This means when the email recepient clicks back to your EZ site, it is easy to fill in the registration form, enter the amount and number of participants, and click "GO. On the first and 15th of each month, your Non-Profit Organization receives a check from Kintera, Inc. for your portion of the donations. We have provided these checks to large and small non-profit organizations throughout the United States. For a listing of the non-profits we have supported, click here |
